This photo by C. F. Mylius is from about 1860 and is one of the oldest photographic views of the Main.  It shows the Old Bridge and the Bridge Mill in the foreground.  The Cathedral Tower in the background is still in the old form that it retained until the Cathedral fire of 1867.

Das ca 1860 von C.F. Mylius gemachte Foto ist eine der �ltesten Mainansichten von Frankfurt am Main. Es zeigt im Vordergund die Alte Br�cke mit der Br�ckenm�hle.  Der Domturm im Hintergrund ist noch in der Form, die bis zum Dombrand im Jahre 1867 hatte.

This section includes hundreds of pictures shows the city of Frankfurt at its finest, and most picturesque, at the banks of the River Main.  Several photos from the 1860s even show the venerable old cathedral before its final completion with its uppermost set of spires.   The same pictures also show the boats docked to unload their wares before the East Harbor replaced the Mainkai (Main Quay) for that purpose.  Pictures of the Old Bridge complete this series, and include a view of the repair work done just before the beginning of World War I.

Diese Serie von Bildern zeigt Frankfurt an seiner feinsten und malerischsten Stelle, den Ufern des Flusses Main. Einige Bilder ab 1860 zeigen sogar den verehrungsw�rdigen alten Dom vor seiner abschlie�enden Vollendung mit der Turmspitze. Die gleichen Bilder zeigen auch Boote, die am Kai festgemacht sind, um ihre Waren zu entladen, bevor der Osthafen den Mainkai als Entladungsstelle ersetzte.  Bilder der Alten Br�cke vollenden diese Serie und schlie�en eine Ansicht �ber Ausbesserungsarbeiten ein, die vor dem Beginn des I. Weltkrieges durchgef�hrt wurden.
